Reporting to the General Manager: Human Resources, the incumbent will be responsible Employee Relations Management;
Duties and Responsibilities
- Handling disciplinary hearings and Grievances including chairing,
- Advice management and staff on Labour relations matters,
- Ensure compliance with Labour Legislation ,
- Supports the team during HR and Social Audits
- Act as chief negotiator for wage negotiations
- Maintain healthy relationship between employer and employees
- Induction of permanent and seasonal workers
Qualifications/Experience
- A tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) in Labour Relations. A postgraduate Programme in Labour Relations /Labour law will be an advantage
- 3-5 years’ specialist labour relations experience in a Labour-intensive environment
- Experience in farming sector will be an advantage
- Experience in chairing hearing/grievances, representing company in the CCMA (Conciliation and Arbitration
- Valid driver’s license
Knowledge
- Through understanding of individual and collective labour , dispute resolution processes and procedures
- Drafting and submitting documents for CCMA process
- Wage negotiation/central workers committee / Employment Equity
- Compliance labour /Social Audits
- Dealing with Unions/ Employee representatives
- Chairing of disciplinary hearings
