Job Summary

This individual will be the primary liaison between our Kenyan Office and our partnered Coffee & Tea suppliers. This position will be dedicated to ensuring the timely processing and delivery of coffee and tea contracted by our exclusive client in Europe and exploring and developing a logistics network that allows flexibility and dependability from the source to the final destination. The incumbent will always work in close coordination with our principal based in The Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring of open shipments to ensure timely execution
• Daily communication with the principal in The Netherlands and local suppliers to review the shipment progress of each contract
• Monitor container movements at origin and identify possible bottlenecks
• Liaise with the supplier and shipping line for the booking process on the instructed vessel
• Connect with the supplier to ensure timely receipt of all shipment documents on behalf of our Principal based in The Netherlands.
• Daily update ERP with new information regarding shipments, estimated sailing date, and available documents
• Support our principal based in The Netherlands with a regular update on inland logistics and container availability status per origin
• Provide monthly forecasts to shipping lines and instruct in accordance so as to optimize costs and secure service
• Share shipping instructions to suppliers ahead of the contracted shipment month
• Review monthly costs related to origins of responsibility and explain variances to the assumed budget.
• Other various logistics tasks and/or projects as and when required by our Principal based in The Netherlands.

Skills & Profile

• BA in business management, logistics, or a related field of study.
• At least 5 years of work experience in logistics
• Experience in the coffee/ Tea sector is desired
• Accurate, and analytical, with a background in supply chain/logistics
• Must display an ability to adapt to changing work/field conditions and resourcefulness in completing sometimes challenging tasks.
• Pro-active & enthusiastic
• Flexible and team player
• Curious & eager to learn
• Results-oriented & with a strong sense of accountability
• English in speaking and writing
• System savvy (MS Office, SAP)
